Where is Laja?
Laja is located in the western part of Bolivia. It sits high up in the mountains, at an elevation of about 3,900 meters (around 12,800 feet) above sea level. This makes it one of the many towns in the Andes Mountains. Being so close to La Paz, it's an important spot in the region.

Laja is a small community. According to a 2001 count, about 707 people lived there. As the administrative seat of its municipality, it's where local government decisions are made for the surrounding area.
The Church of Laja
