Lake Acworth is a man-made lake covering about 260 acres (105 hectares). It is located southwest of the city of Acworth, Georgia. You can find it in the far northwestern part of Cobb County. This lake was created by holding back the waters of Proctor Creek. The water from Lake Acworth eventually flows into a larger lake called Lake Allatoona. A low dam is located where State Route 92 (also known as Lake Acworth Drive) crosses the lake.

Acworth Beach: A Great Place to Visit
The city of Acworth runs a public beach and park called Acworth Beach. It is found along the northern shore of Lake Acworth. This beach was made by bringing in white sand and spreading it over the natural reddish-brown clay soil. For safety, the swimming area is marked off with ropes and floats. This helps keep swimmers separate from boats. In 2010, the Lake Acworth Beach and Beachhouse were added to the National Register of Historic Places. This means they are recognized as important historical sites.
