Lake Asbury is a community in Clay County, Florida, United States. It's not an official city, but a "census-designated place" (CDP). This means it's an area that the U.S. Census Bureau counts as a community for statistics. It is also known as the Asbury Lake CDP.
In 2020, about 11,036 people lived here. This was a big jump from 8,700 people in 2010! Lake Asbury is part of the larger Jacksonville, Florida area.
Exploring Lake Asbury's Location
Lake Asbury is located in the northern part of Clay County. It is found at 30°03′10″N 81°48′59″W / 30.052914°N 81.816296°W. The community is built around a small lake that shares its name. Recently, the community has grown towards the east.
To the north of Lake Asbury, you'll find Black Creek. This creek flows into the St. Johns River. The community is about 13 miles (21 km) southwest of Orange Park. It is also about 30 miles (48 km) southwest of downtown Jacksonville.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that Lake Asbury covers a total area of about 17.3 square miles (44.8 km2). Most of this area, about 17.0 square miles (44.1 km2), is land. The rest, about 0.3 square miles (0.7 km2), is water.
