Lake Elbert is a beautiful freshwater lake located in Winter Haven, Florida. It has a unique circular shape with a small, round cove on its southwest side. Sometimes, it is also called Little Elbert, but this name is not very common.
Lake Elbert is a natural lake, meaning it formed on its own, not by people. It covers an area of about 172 acres (about 70 hectares). This makes it a good size for exploring and enjoying nature.

Exploring Lake Elbert's Features
Lake Elbert is surrounded by a road called Lake Elbert Drive. This road goes all the way around the lake. On the south side, Lake Elbert Drive is a busy road that connects to other main streets like Central Avenue and Dundee Road.
Most of the land around the lake has houses. There are also a few medical offices on the southwest side. On the northwest side, the lake is right next to Polk State College.
Islands of Lake Elbert
Lake Elbert has between ten and twelve small islands. Most of these islands are very close to the shore. They are often swampy, which means they have wet, marshy land.
The biggest island is on the south side of the lake. It is about 150 feet (46 meters) long and 75 feet (23 meters) wide. These islands add to the natural beauty of the lake.
