About Lake Elizabeth
Lake Elizabeth is quite large, covering about 1,054 acres. To give you an idea, that's like more than 790 football fields! Even though it's big, it's not very deep. At its deepest spot, the lake is only about nine feet down. That's roughly the height of a basketball hoop.
This lake is a type of glacial lake. This means it was formed a very long time ago by huge sheets of ice called glaciers. As glaciers moved across the land, they carved out hollows in the ground. When the glaciers melted, these hollows filled with water, creating lakes like Lake Elizabeth.
