Lake Lindero is a man-made lake in Agoura Hills, California. It's located in the beautiful foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains. The area around the lake is a neighborhood in western Los Angeles County, California. Many homes are built right around the lake. There's also a public golf course and some shops nearby.

Lake Lindero is a small lake. It is mostly surrounded by private homes. About 120 houses are built right on the lake's edge. On the southeast side, you can find two commercial buildings. There is also a 9-hole public golf course. It is named the Lake Lindero Golf Course.
How Lake Lindero Began
The land where Lake Lindero is now was once a large ranch. It was called "Lindero Ranch." A famous engineer named C.L. "Kelly" Johnson owned it. He worked for Lockheed Corp. and was known for designing special airplanes. He and his wife, Althea, lived and ranched there from the 1940s to the early 1960s.
They sold the ranch in 1962. A developer then built many homes on the land. He also dug the lake near the Ventura Freeway. The new community was named Lake Lindero. Most of the homes were built between the late 1960s and early 1970s. This was a time when many new houses were being built in the area.
Exploring the Lake Lindero Area
The neighborhood around Lake Lindero is a calm place to live. It has a mix of families.
The area includes the Lindero Country Club. You can also find the 9-hole public Lake Lindero Golf Course here. For students, there's Lindero Canyon Middle School and Yerba Buena Elementary School.
A local synagogue is also an important place in the community. It is a center for Jewish culture in the area. On Shabbat, which is the Jewish day of rest, many local Orthodox Jews walk to and from the synagogue.
The historic Reyes Adobe Museum is in the eastern part of the Lake Lindero area. This old adobe building was built around 1820. It was part of the old Rancho Las Virgenes. Today, the Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Department owns it. The museum was built in the mid-2000s around the original adobe site. It is now a popular place for visitors to learn about history.
