Lake Reed is a natural freshwater lake located in Winter Haven, Florida. It has a unique, somewhat round shape and covers about 17 acres. This lake is surrounded by different types of land, from roads to pastures and even a neighborhood.

Where is Lake Reed Located?

Lake Reed is found on the south side of Winter Haven, Florida. It's near Eloise Loop Road to the north and northeast. On its west side, you'll find open pastures. To the southeast and south, there's a community called Terranova.

The lake has a slightly uneven, round shape. It covers about 16.91 acres, which is like 13 football fields! During times of high water, it connects to a smaller, oval-shaped body of water nearby.

What is the Shoreline Like?

The entire edge of Lake Reed is quite swampy. This means it has wet, soft land with lots of plants. This swampy area forms a natural border around the lake.

Can You Visit Lake Reed?

Lake Reed does not have any public swimming areas. There are also no boat ramps for public or private use. In fact, there is no public way to get to this lake. It is fenced off along Eloise Loop Road.

What Animals Live in Lake Reed?

Even though you can't visit, we know some animals live in Lake Reed. The Hook and Bullet website says that the lake is home to several types of fish. These include largemouth bass, bluegill, and crappie. These fish are common in Florida's freshwater lakes.
