Lake Rochelle is a beautiful freshwater lake in Florida. It's mostly oval-shaped, with a smaller oval area on its east side. This lake covers about 580 acres, which is a lot of space for fun and nature!

Even though Lake Rochelle is just north of Winter Haven, Florida, the entire lake is actually inside the city of Lake Alfred, Florida. The main part of Lake Alfred is on the northwest side of the lake. A big road called US Highway 92 runs close to the lake's shore on that side.

Exploring Lake Rochelle

Most of the north and west sides of Lake Rochelle are surrounded by peaceful woods. If you go to the east and south sides, you'll see homes and open grassy areas.

Public Access and Parks

You can easily visit Lake Rochelle from its northwest shore. This is where you'll find the Lake Rochelle Park and Boat Ramp. The city of Lake Alfred takes care of this park, which is about 1.8 acres big. It even has a nice shelter house with a picnic table, perfect for a snack break!

Trails and Connections

On the west side of the lake, there's a paved path called the Chain of Lakes Trail. This trail is great for walking or riding your bike. It starts at Joyce B. Davis Park in downtown Winter Haven and goes all the way to US Highway 92.

Lake Rochelle is also part of the larger Winter Haven Chain of Lakes. This means boats can travel between many lakes!

Boating on the Lake

You can get into Lake Rochelle by boat through two different canals:

  • One canal on the north side connects to Lake Haines.
  • Another canal on the south side connects to Lake Conine.

There's also a small canal on the northeast side that leads to Lake Echo. However, this canal is too small for boats to use. Lake Rochelle does not have any public swimming beaches.
