Lamond Maurice Murray Sr. (born April 20, 1973) is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He played for many years in the NBA, which is the top basketball league in North America.

Early Life and College Basketball
Lamond Murray was born in Pasadena, California. He went to John F. Kennedy High School in Fremont, California.
After high school, he played college basketball for the University of California at Berkeley. He was a very good player there, even teaming up with future NBA star Jason Kidd. Murray was recognized as an All-American in 1994. He was also named to the All-Pac-10 team twice, in 1993 and 1994.
NBA Career Highlights
In 1994, Lamond Murray was chosen by the Los Angeles Clippers as the seventh overall pick in the 1994 NBA draft. This meant he was one of the first players picked to join the NBA that year.
He played for the Clippers for several seasons. Later, he also played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Toronto Raptors, and the New Jersey Nets. Throughout his 12-year NBA career, he played in 736 games. He averaged 11.3 points per game, which means he scored about 11 points in each game he played.
In 2002, while playing for the Toronto Raptors, Lamond Murray had a foot injury. This injury was serious and made him miss the entire 2002–03 NBA season. He worked hard to recover and returned to play after that.
Later Career and Recognition
After his time in the NBA, Lamond Murray continued to play basketball professionally. In 2009, he joined the Bahrain Basketball Association and played for a team called Al-Muharraq Sports Club in Bahrain. He also played for other teams like the Guangdong Southern Tigers in China and the Los Angeles Lightning in the ABA league.
In 2012, Lamond Murray was honored for his college career. He was inducted into the Pac-12 Basketball Hall of Honor. This special event happened during the 2012 Pac-12 Conference men's basketball tournament on March 10, 2012.

Lamond Murray comes from a family of basketball players. His first cousin, Tracy Murray, also played in the NBA. Lamond Murray is also the father of Lamond Murray Jr., who is also a professional basketball player.
