History of the Museum Building
The building where the Landsborough Museum is now was first opened in 1924. It used to be the main office for the local council, which is like the local government. They made important decisions for the area there.
In 1968, the council moved to a new office in Caloundra. This happened because Caloundra had grown bigger and become a city.
A group called the Landsborough Historical Society loved history. They started in 1973. In 1975, they got permission to use the old council building. On April 3, 1976, they officially opened it as the "Landsborough Shire Historical Museum." It's amazing because volunteers run the whole museum!
