History of Langdon
The first post office in Langdon opened in 1873. The city was named after a local businessman who was important to the area.
In 1887, a railroad company called the Chicago, Kansas and Nebraska Railway built a main line. This line went through Langdon, connecting it to other towns. Over the years, this railroad changed hands many times. Today, most local people still call it the "Rock Island" railroad.
