Lantheuil was once a small commune in northwestern France. It was located in the Calvados area, which is part of the Normandy region. A commune is like a local town or village area in France.
On January 1, 2017, Lantheuil joined with another nearby place. It became part of a new, larger commune called Ponts sur Seulles. This happens sometimes when smaller towns combine to work together.

Why Do Communes Merge?
Sometimes, smaller communes decide to merge. This means they join together to form a bigger one. They might do this to share resources or to be more efficient.
