Lapuente is a small village located in the Rivera Department of northeastern Uruguay. It is known as a "populated centre," meaning it's a place where people live and form a community.
Where is Lapuente Located?
Lapuente is found along Route 29. It's about 19 kilometers (about 12 miles) northeast of where Route 29 meets Route 27. This area is about 48 kilometers (about 30 miles) northwest of Vichadero. It is also about 88 kilometers (about 55 miles) southeast of Rivera, which is the capital city of the department.
A stream called Arroyo Yaguarí flows along the western edge of the village. Lapuente is also quite close to the border with Brazil, only about 12 kilometers (about 7.5 miles) away.
How Many People Live in Lapuente?
In 2011, a study showed that Lapuente had a population of 321 people. This number tells us how many residents call Lapuente home.
