Larry McCormick (born February 3, 1933 – died August 27, 2004) was a famous American TV reporter and news anchor. He was also an actor. Larry McCormick was best known for his work at the Los Angeles TV station KTLA-TV. He worked there for many years.

About Larry McCormick
Larry McCormick was born in Kansas City, Missouri. His father was Pastor L.W. McCormick. His mother, Laura McCormick, was a talented pianist and singer. Larry started his career in the late 1950s. He worked as a disc jockey (someone who plays music on the radio). This was after he finished college at the University of Kansas City.
Early Radio Days
Larry McCormick first came to Los Angeles in 1958. He worked at a radio station called KGFJ. This station played R&B music. He stayed there until 1963. Later, from 1964 to 1968, he worked at another popular radio station, KFWB-AM. This station played "Top-40" music, which meant the most popular songs of the time.
Moving to TV News
Larry McCormick became one of the first African-American newscasters in the United States. He left his morning radio show in 1968. He then started working in TV news. He joined KCOP-TV in late 1969. Soon after, in May 1971, he moved to KTLA. He worked at KTLA until he passed away in 2004.

At KTLA, Larry McCormick was a features reporter. He covered topics like business and health. He also anchored the news on weekends. He co-hosted a show called Making It! Minority Success Stories.
