Las Banderillas, also called Cerro de las Banderillas, is a tall mountain in southern Spain. It stands 1,993 meters (about 6,539 feet) high. This makes it the highest point in the Sierra de Segura mountain range.

Discover Las Banderillas
Las Banderillas is part of a larger group of mountains. These include the Sierra del Segura and the Sierra de Cazorla. Together, they form a system called the Pre-baetic System.
A Special Natural Park
Both the Sierra del Segura and Sierra de Cazorla mountains are inside a huge protected area. This area is known as the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park. It is a wonderful place for nature and wildlife.
What Las Banderillas Looks Like
In winter, Las Banderillas often gets covered in snow. Its western side has a very steep cliff. This cliff looks down over the Aguamulas River valley and a small stream called la Campana Brook.
The eastern side of the mountain is different. It slopes down more gently. This side leads to areas like Pinar Negro and the Campos de Hernán Perea plateaus.
Exploring the Mountain
You can explore Las Banderillas using many beautiful hiking trails. These paths offer amazing views of the surrounding nature. At the very top of Las Banderillas, there is a small building. This shack holds equipment used to fight forest fires.
