The name Lascassas comes from a very important person named Bartolomé de las Casas. He lived a long time ago, from 1484 to 1566. Bartolomé de las Casas was a Spanish missionary, which means he was a religious person who traveled to new places to share his beliefs. He even went on one of Christopher Columbus's trips.
