Laura Fraser is a Scottish actress. She was born on July 24, 1975. She is known for her roles in many TV shows and movies. Some of her famous roles include Door in Neverwhere and Lydia Rodarte-Quayle in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

Early Life and Training

Laura Fraser was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Her mother, Rose Fraser, was a college lecturer and nurse. Her father, Alister Fraser, was a screenwriter and businessman.

Laura went to Hillhead High School. She was also a member of the Scottish Youth Theatre. She studied acting at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. This school is now called the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Laura Fraser's Acting Career

Laura Fraser started her acting career in 1995. Her first big role was playing Door in the BBC fantasy series Neverwhere in 1996.

Early Roles in Film and TV

After Neverwhere, Laura appeared in several films. She was in The Tribe (1998) and Titus (1999). She also acted in Virtual ... (1999) and Kevin & Perry Go Large (2000).

In 2001, she appeared in the popular films A Knight's Tale and Vanilla Sky. She also starred in BBC period dramas like He Knew He Was Right (2004) and Casanova (2005).

Later TV and Film Work

In 2008, Laura played Florence Nightingale in a TV movie called Florence Nightingale. From 2010 to 2012, she starred as Cat in the BBC Three series ... Service.

A very well-known role for Laura was Lydia Rodarte-Quayle. She played this character in the TV series Breaking Bad from 2012 to 2013. She continued this role in the prequel series Better Call Saul from 2017 to 2020. She could not appear in the final season of Better Call Saul because of travel rules during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Laura also played Eve Stone in The Missing (2016). She was DI Juliet Wallace in One of Us (2016). In 2017, she starred as DS Annie Redford in the ITV drama The Loch. In 2020, she appeared in the Doctor Who episode "Orphan 55".

In 2025, Laura Fraser starred as Detective Bea Metcalfe in the ITV series Patience. Her character works with a neurodivergent person to solve crimes.

Personal Life

Laura Fraser is married to actor Karl Geary. They got married in 2003. They have one daughter. Laura and her family live in Glasgow, Scotland.
