Laura Whitmore (born 4 May 1985) is an Irish TV presenter, model, and actress who works in London. She started her career in 2008 as a presenter for MTV. Since then, she has hosted popular TV shows like Survival of the Fittest and the famous dating show Love Island from 2020 to 2022.
In 2020, Laura became a team captain on the funny TV show Celebrity Juice. She has also hosted her own chat show and created a documentary series called Laura Whitmore Investigates.

Early Life and Education
Laura Whitmore was born in Dublin, Ireland, on May 4, 1985. She grew up in the town of Bray, County Wicklow, with her two half-brothers.
For her secondary school education, she went to Loreto Secondary School. After graduating, she decided to study journalism at Dublin City University. This helped prepare her for a future career in media.
Television Career
Becoming the Face of MTV
In 2008, Laura entered a competition called Pick Me MTV. The winner would become the new presenter for MTV News across Europe. Laura won and began hosting news shows for MTV. She worked there for seven years, until 2015, often reporting from special events in Ireland and other European countries.
Hosting Major TV Shows
From 2011 to 2015, Laura co-hosted I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! NOW!. This show was a spin-off that aired right after the main I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! series on ITV2.
In 2014, she was a commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 semi-finals on BBC Three. That same year, she also presented a segment called "The Hub" on the morning show This Morning.
In 2016, Laura competed in the dance competition Strictly Come Dancing. She was partnered with professional dancer Giovanni Pernice. They were the sixth couple to be voted off the show.
Presenting Love Island
In 2020, Laura became the host of the popular reality show Love Island. She hosted the show for three series. In August 2022, she announced she was leaving the show to work on other projects.

Laura is set to star as Rachel Watson in the stage version of The Girl on the Train from June to August 2025.
Writing and Radio
Laura wrote her first book, No One Can Change Your Life Except For You, which was released in 2021. From 2018 to 2022, she had her own weekly radio show on BBC Radio 5 Live.
She also co-hosts a podcast with her husband, Iain Stirling, called "Murder They Wrote with Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling," where they discuss true crime stories.
Fashion and Charity
Laura has also been involved in fashion. In 2009, she launched her own clothing line. She has also worked with the jewelry brand Daisy London.
She is a supporter of the Because I Am a Girl charity campaign. In 2014, she started a campaign called Misstache for Movember to help raise awareness for men's health.

Laura Whitmore lives in London. In 2020, she married Scottish comedian and TV personality Iain Stirling. He is known for being the narrator of Love Island. They had a private ceremony at Dublin City Hall.
In March 2021, Laura and Iain welcomed their daughter into the world.
