A Look Back: Le Raysville's History
Le Raysville has an interesting past! A place for sending and receiving mail, called a post office, was first set up here in 1827.
The borough got its name from a man named James Le Ray de Chaumont. He was originally from France but became an American citizen. He bought a very large piece of land, about 80,000 acres, in the eastern part of Bradford County. The town was named in his honor.

Le Raysville is found in the eastern part of Bradford County. Its exact spot is 41°50′16″N 76°10′49″W / 41.83778°N 76.18028°W.
Even though it's surrounded by Pike Township, Le Raysville is its own separate area. The U.S. Census Bureau says the borough covers about 2.7 square kilometers (1.04 square miles) of land.
