Eva Leanza Cornett (born June 10, 1971 – died October 28, 2020) was an American television personality and beauty queen. She was known for winning the title of Miss Florida in 1992. The next year, she became Miss America 1993. She also worked as a stage actress.

Early Life and Education
Leanza Cornett was born in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. She later grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended Terry Parker High School and then went to Rollins College.
Miss America and Public Service
As Miss America, Leanza Cornett used her platform to help others. She was the first Miss America to focus on health awareness and prevention during her year of service. Before becoming Miss America, she was also named National Sweetheart in 1991.
Personal Life
Leanza Cornett was married to Mark Steines. They were married from 1995 to 2013. After 17 years together, they decided to get divorced. They had two children.
Later Life and Passing
Leanza Cornett passed away on October 28, 2020. She was 49 years old. Her death was caused by a serious head injury from a fall at a hospital in Jacksonville.
