Lebanon is a small town located in Dodge County, Wisconsin, in the United States. In 2000, about 1,664 people lived there. Some smaller communities like Lebanon, Old Lebanon, and Sugar Island are also part of the town.

History of Lebanon, Wisconsin
The first people to settle in Lebanon were a group called the Old Lutherans. They moved from Prussia (a country that used to exist in Europe) in 1843.
One of these settlers, Johann Schley, was a master tailor. He suggested naming the community "Lebanon." He thought the area looked like the mountains of Lebanon mentioned in the Bible. This was because it was on a hillside and had many tamarack trees, which reminded him of the cedars of Lebanon.
Geography and Landscape
Lebanon, Wisconsin, covers a total area of about 36 square miles (93.3 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, about 35.8 square miles (92.8 square kilometers). A small part, about 0.2 square miles (0.5 square kilometers), is water.
Population and People
According to the 2000 census, 1,664 people lived in Lebanon. The town had about 46.5 people per square mile. Most of the people living in Lebanon were White (about 98.56%).
There were 610 households in the town. About 33.1% of these households had children under 18 living with them. Most households (68.9%) were married couples living together.
The population was spread out by age. About 26.2% of the people were under 18 years old. About 14.4% were 65 years or older. The average age in Lebanon was 38 years.
