Lee Ui-bang's younger brother, Lee In, was also an important figure. Lee In was a great-grandfather of Yi Seonggye. Yi Seonggye later founded the Joseon dynasty, which was the next major kingdom in Korea after Goryeo.
Lee Ui-bang's life ended in 1174 when he was murdered by Jeong Kyun.
