Leeds is a small community in Greene County, New York, United States. It's known as a "hamlet" and a "census-designated place" (CDP). A CDP is a special area the government defines for gathering information about people. In 2020, about 429 people lived in Leeds.
Leeds is part of the town of Catskill. It is located near the northern border of the town. You can find Leeds north of Route 23 and west of the New York State Thruway (Interstate 87). It is also northwest of the village of Catskill.

History of Leeds
Leeds has had a few different names in the past. It was once called "Madison" and also "Mill Village." In the language of the local Native American people, the area was known as Pasqoecq.
The community got its current name, Leeds, from the city of Leeds, which is in the United Kingdom.
