Leisure (say it: lay-zher) is a small community in Indiana. It is located in Duck Creek Township, which is part of Madison County. Being an unincorporated community means it is not an official town or city, but rather a group of homes and buildings.
History
Leisure had its own post office a long time ago. It opened in 1888. People living there could send and receive mail. But the post office closed down in 1903.
The community got its name from a special person. His name was Nathan J. Leisure. He was a brave soldier in the American Civil War. He was also a pioneer, meaning he was one of the first people to settle in that area.
