Leiter is a small, quiet community in eastern Sheridan County, Wyoming, in the United States. It's not a city or town with its own government, but rather an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and businesses that are part of the larger county. Leiter is located right along Clear Creek and can be found where U.S. Routes 14 and 16 meet. It's east of the city of Sheridan, which is the main city in Sheridan County.

Leiter sits at an elevation of about 3,779 feet (1,152 meters) above sea level. Even though it's not a formal town, Leiter has its own post office and a special ZIP code, which is 82837. Kids in Leiter attend public schools provided by Sheridan County School District #3.

The community of Leiter was named after Levi Z. Leiter. He was a very important person who owned a huge ranch in this area a long time ago. The name "Leiter" comes from his family's estate.

Leiter's Weather and Climate
