Blaise Lelo Mbele (born August 10, 1987) is a former professional footballer from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He played as a striker, meaning he was a forward player whose main job was to score goals. Lelo Mbele played for many different clubs during his career, including famous teams like Orlando Pirates in South Africa and Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

Playing for Clubs

Lelo Mbele helped his team, CS Sfaxien, win the CAF Confederation Cup. This is a big football competition for clubs in Africa.

In November 2007, Mbele joined Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia. He made his first appearance in the Saudi Premier League on December 5, 2007. His first goal for Al Hilal came just five days later, helping his team win 2–0.

In 2008, he moved to Espérance, a team in Tunisia.

In January 2009, Mbele signed a three-year contract with Al-Hilal Omdurman, a club in Sudan. He chose this club because it was strong and successful. After a season there, he moved to Al-Nasr Benghazi in Libya.

In July 2011, Mbele signed with Al Naser in Kuwait. However, his contract ended quickly because he got a serious muscle injury.

After being without a club for four months, he joined Selangor FA, a Malaysian team. Sadly, his injury meant he couldn't play any games for Selangor and was later released by the club.

In August 2012, Mbele signed a two-year contract with MC Alger, an Algerian club.

Later in his career, he played in Bahrain for Al-Ahli Club. Bahrain was the fifteenth country where he had played football!

In 2017, Mbele moved to India and joined a new club called Gokulam Kerala, which plays in the I-League.

Playing for His Country

Mbele was also a member of the DR Congo national team. He played for his country in the 2006 African Nations Cup. His team made it to the quarter-finals of the tournament. They were eventually knocked out by Egypt, who went on to win the competition that year.
