Blaise Lelo Mbele, born on August 10, 1987, is a former professional footballer from the Democratic Republic of Congo. He played as a striker, which means his main job was to score goals for his team. Lelo Mbele played for many different clubs during his career. Early Career and Successes
Lelo Mbele started his professional journey playing for various clubs. One of his notable achievements was helping CS Sfaxien win the CAF Confederation Cup. This is an important football competition in Africa.
In November 2007, Lelo Mbele joined Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia. He made his first appearance for Al Hilal in a match against Al Watani. Soon after, he scored his first goal for the club in a victory against Al Ittifaq.
Moving Between Teams
In 2008, Lelo Mbele moved to Tunisia and joined Espérance. The next year, in January 2009, he signed with another club named Al-Hilal, this time in Sudan. His agent mentioned that the Sudanese club's strength and success were key reasons for his choice.
After his time in Sudan, Lelo Mbele moved to Al-Nasr Benghazi in Libya. In July 2011, he signed with Al Naser, a club in Kuwait. However, his contract with Al Naser ended shortly after due to a muscle injury.
Later Career and International Moves
After being without a club for a few months, Lelo Mbele joined the Malaysian club Selangor FA in 2011. Unfortunately, due to his injury, he was unable to play any games for Selangor and was later released by the Football Association of Selangor.
In August 2012, Lelo Mbele signed a contract with the Algerian club MC Alger. Later in his career, he also played in Bahrain, joining Al-Ahli Club. In 2017, he moved to India and signed with Gokulam Kerala, a newly formed club in the I-League.
International Career
Lelo Mbele also represented his home country, the Democratic Republic of Congo, in international football. He was part of the national team that played in the 2006 African Nations Cup. In this tournament, his team reached the quarter-finals. They were eventually knocked out by Egypt, who went on to win the entire tournament.
