Lenno was a small town, or comune, located in the Lombardy region of Italy. It was part of the Province of Como. Lenno was about 60 kilometers (37 miles) north of Milan. It was also about 20 kilometers (12 miles) northeast of Como.
In December 2004, Lenno had about 1,800 people living there. The town covered an area of 9.6 square kilometers (3.7 square miles).
Lenno shared borders with several other towns. These included Bellagio, Bene Lario, Grandola ed Uniti, Lezzeno, Mezzegra, Ossuccio, Porlezza, and Tremezzo.
In 2014, Lenno joined with three other towns. These towns were Mezzegra, Ossuccio, and Tremezzo. They all came together to form a new, larger municipality. This new municipality is called Comune di Tremezzina. The change became official after a new mayor was chosen on May 25, 2014.
Lenno's Population Over Time
The number of people living in Lenno changed over many years. For example, in 1861, there were 1,294 residents. By 2001, the population had grown to 1,786 people. This shows how the town's population grew and changed before it joined Tremezzina.
Sister Cities Around the World
Lenno had a special connection with another place far away. This is called "town twinning" or being "sister cities." It means two towns agree to be partners. They often share culture and learn from each other.
