Leon George Thomas III (born August 1, 1993) is an American singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer. Many people know him from his acting roles as a kid and teenager. He later became a successful musician, winning a Grammy Award for his work.
As a child, Thomas starred in famous Broadway shows like The Lion King and The Color Purple. On television, he was the singing voice for Tyrone the moose on the popular cartoon The Backyardigans. He is also well-known for playing Andre Harris on the Nickelodeon show Victorious from 2010 to 2013.
After Victorious, Thomas focused more on his music. He is part of a production team called The Rascals. He has helped write and produce songs for huge stars like Ariana Grande, Drake, SZA, and Toni Braxton.
As a solo artist, he released his first album, Electric Dusk, in 2023. His second album, Mutt (2024), was a big hit. The album's main song, also called "Mutt", became very popular and was his first song to make it onto the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Early Life and Acting
Leon Thomas III was born in Brooklyn, New York. He started his career on Broadway when he was only 10 years old, playing Young Simba in The Lion King. He also acted in other big stage shows like Caroline, or Change and The Color Purple.
In 2007, he appeared in the movie August Rush, where he sang the song "La Bamba". Soon after, he started working with Nickelodeon. He provided the singing voice for Tyrone in The Backyardigans from 2006 to 2008. He also had guest roles on shows like Just Jordan and iCarly.
His biggest role came in 2010 when he was cast as Andre Harris in the Nickelodeon series Victorious. He was a main character on the show for its entire run. He was featured on the show's soundtracks, singing songs like "Song 2 You" and "Countdown".
Music and Producing Career
While still acting, Thomas began building his music career. In 2012, he released his first mixtape, Metro Hearts. It even included a cover of Drake's song "Take Care" featuring his Victorious co-star Ariana Grande.
He and his production partner formed a duo called The Rascals. As part of The Rascals, Thomas co-wrote and co-produced several songs on Ariana Grande's first album, Yours Truly. He also worked on the Grammy Award-winning album Love, Marriage & Divorce by Toni Braxton and Babyface.
Over the years, Thomas has worked with many famous artists. He co-produced for Post Malone and appeared in the 2017 film Detroit. In 2019, he was nominated for a Grammy Award for co-writing the song "Gold Roses" for Rick Ross and Drake.
Recent Success
In 2022, Thomas signed a record deal with Ty Dolla Sign's label EZMNY Records and the famous Motown label. This led to the release of his first official studio album, Electric Dusk, in 2023.
In 2024, he won his first Grammy Award for Best R&B Song for helping write SZA's hit song "Snooze". Later that year, he released his second album, Mutt. The album and its title track were very successful, charting on the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100.
In June 2025, he released a song called Brown Sugar with artist Dylan Sinclair.
