Ciudad Lerdo (Lerdo City) is a beautiful city in the northeastern part of the Mexican state of Durango. It's often called the "garden city" because of its many green spaces. Lerdo is also famous for its delicious ice cream made with fresh milk from local farms.
This city is the main town for the Lerdo Municipality. It is located at coordinates 25.33° N, 103.31° W, right next to southeastern Coahuila. In 2010, about 79,669 people lived in Lerdo City. The entire Lerdo Municipality had a population of 141,043 people. The municipality covers an area of about 1,868.8 square kilometers (721.6 sq mi).
Lerdo is part of a larger group of cities called a metropolitan area. This area includes Torreón Municipality and Matamoros Municipality in Coahuila, along with Gómez Palacio Municipality in Durango. Even though the climate is dry, Ciudad Lerdo is full of plants and trees.

Musicians and Artists
- Nestor Mesta Chayres (1908–1971): Known as "El Gitano de México," which means "Mexico's Gypsy." He was a famous opera tenor (a type of singer) and a bolero vocalist. He was known around the world for his amazing voice.
- Pepe Jaramillo (1921–2001): He was a highly praised pianist. He became very popular in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s for his beautiful piano music.
