Lexington is a small town in Lee County, Texas, United States. In 2020, about 1,217 people lived there. It is known as a cattle trading town. Lexington is about 40 miles (64 km) west of Bryan.

History of Lexington
Lexington started with a different name in 1848. Its first post office was called String Prairie. This name came from the flat, open land around it. James Shaw, a veteran and lawmaker, was the first postmaster.
In 1850, the people living there decided to change the town's name. They chose Lexington to honor the place where the very first battle of the American Revolution happened. This battle was a key moment in American history.

Arts and Culture
Every Saturday, farmers and ranchers come to Lexington from nearby areas. A cattle auction takes place at 12:30 pm on Saturdays. This is where cattle are bought and sold.
Lexington is also home to a special flower farm. It is the only one in Lee County. This farm is located at the historic site of Nalley, which used to be a town but isn't anymore.
