Liam Wong is a talented artist from Scotland who works as a photographer and a designer for video games. He used to be a top artistic director at a company called Ubisoft Montreal. About Liam Wong
Liam Wong grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland. He went to Abertay University in Dundee to study Computer Arts and finished his degree in 2010. His very first game, named Colour-Coded, was made during his last year at university. It was so good that it was nominated for two BAFTA awards, which are like the Oscars for games and movies!
After graduating, Liam moved to Canada. There, he became an artistic director at Ubisoft Montreal, a big company that makes video games. He worked there for six years, helping to shape the visual style of many games.
In 2015, Liam bought his first professional camera. During a trip to Japan, he started his famous "Tokyo Nights" photography series. His photos are inspired by cool science fiction movies like Blade Runner, Akira, and Ghost in the Shell.
In 2017, Liam was recognized by Forbes 30 under 30, a list that highlights successful young people. His first photography book, To:ky:oo, became the most successful book funded by people online in the UK. It raised four times more money than he originally hoped for! In 2022, he joined a new video game studio called Unseen Inc. as their visual director, working with Ikumi Nakamura.
