Licor de oro facts for kids
Licor de oro (which means Gold liqueur in English) is a special traditional drink from the Chiloé Archipelago in Chile. It gets its name from its beautiful yellow color, which looks like gold!
This unique drink is made with interesting ingredients. It includes a spirit called aguardiente and also whey, which is the liquid part of milk that separates when cheese is made. Other ingredients that give it its golden color and special flavor are saffron (a spice known for its bright color) and lemon peel.
Licor de oro is a part of the rich culture and traditions of the Chiloé islands.
