Darwin Cordale Quinn (born October 7, 1987), known as Lil' C (or C-Gutta), is an American hip hop music producer, songwriter, and rapper. He is famous for creating the music for songs. One of his most well-known productions is "Shoulder Lean" by Young Dro in 2006. This song helped him get a deal with Grand Hustle Records, a record label. Lil' C is also part of a music production team called Smash Factory. He works with Mars and the head of Grand Hustle Records, T.I., in this team.

Musical Journey

Lil' C started making hip hop beats to earn money. He began selling his beats to classmates when he was still in high school. By the age of 15, he was working in a music studio in Jackson, Mississippi. This helped him meet many people in the music business early on.

When he was 17, Lil' C produced the song "My Hood" for the artist Young Jeezy. This song was a big hit from Young Jeezy's first album, Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101, released in 2005. Later, Lil' C met Jason Geter, who was the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of rapper T.I.'s record label, Grand Hustle Records.

Jason Geter was very impressed by Lil' C's skills. In 2006, Lil' C became widely recognized for producing "Shoulder Lean" for Young Dro. This song was a huge success, selling over 2 million ringtones. This led to Lil' C signing his first music publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music and Grand Hustle when he was just 18 years old. In 2007, Lil' C and T.I. created their own music production and songwriting team called The Smash Factory. They worked with Lamar "Mars" Edwards from 1500 or Nothin'.

In 2014, Lil' C produced a new version of "Heaven Knows" for Tessanne Chin, who won The Voice TV show. This remix was released as a single. In 2015, Lil' C signed a new deal with Kobalt Music Group. Also in 2015, he produced the song "Offset" for T.I. and Young Thug. This song was featured on the soundtrack for the movie Furious 7. Lil' C has continued to produce music for various artists, including songs like "I Think She Like Me" for Rick Ross in 2017 and "Tribe" for Jidenna in 2019. More recently, in 2022, he produced "Dos Mil 16" for Bad Bunny, and in 2023, he worked on "Double R Dreamin" and "Can You Hear Me Now?" for Lecrae.
