Natalie Barrington, known as Lil Nat, is a well-known American radio host. She was born on February 8, 1975. Lil Nat used to host popular overnight shows. These shows were on famous New York City radio stations. These stations included Hot 97 and 98.7 Kiss FM. Today, she hosts her own prime-time radio show. It is called Digital Empire Nation. You can also hear her on One West Radio (107FM).

Lil Nat was born in Brooklyn, New York. Her parents are from Jamaica. She first wanted to be a dancer. However, an injury changed her plans. She then studied Film, Arts, Television, and Radio at NYU. While at NYU, she had her own R&B radio show. She even interviewed famous artists like Erykah Badu.

Lil Nat's Radio Career

Nat started her career with an internship. This was at a company called Emmis Communications. Within a year, she became an assistant producer. She worked on The Isaac Hayes Morning show. She also made commercials for the radio station. This is where she met DJ Funkmaster Flex. He gave her the nickname "Lil Nat."

Soon, she got a job at Hot 97 FM. She became the overnight host there. While hosting, she also did backstage interviews. These were at big events like Summer Jam. Emmis Communications later moved her show. It went from Hot 97 to 98.7 Kiss FM. Lil Nat continued her overnight show. She stayed there until 98.7 became ESPN Radio in 2012.

Starting Her Own Show

In 2011, Lil Nat started her own company. It was called NB Productions. Through this company, she created LilNat.com. She also began making her own cooking show. By 2013, Lil Nat wanted to return to radio. She decided to create her own show. This new show was called Digital Empire Nation.

The show first aired on Gidradio.com for six months. After that, it moved to another platform. Since it started, Digital Empire Nation has grown. It is now heard in different cities. You can listen to it in Los Angeles on 107FM. It is also on Power 104.9FM in Kokomo, Indiana.

Acting and Other Work

Nat has also tried acting. In 2009, she was in a movie called Still a Teen Movie. She played a radio personality in it. In 2018, she had a role in a web series. This series was called Bum Rush.
