Keith Grayson (born August 14, 1966 – died April 17, 2022), known professionally as DJ Kay Slay, was a famous American disc jockey (DJ) from New York City. He was sometimes called "Hip Hop's One-Man Ministry of Insults" by The New York Times. DJ Kay Slay released several popular albums, including The Streetsweeper, Vol. 1 and The Streetsweeper, Vol. 2.

Early Life and Art
Keith Grayson was born on August 14, 1966, in New York City. Before becoming a DJ, he was a well-known graffiti artist. His art was even shown in a 1983 hip hop movie called Style Wars. One of his famous graffiti signatures was "Dez".
Growing up in New York, Keith saw many legendary DJs perform. These included Grandmaster Flash and Kool DJ Red Alert. He said that becoming a DJ was "just something to do that was fun." He lived in East Harlem, New York.
DJ Kay Slay's Music Career
Early Albums: Streetsweeper Series
DJ Kay Slay released his first album, The Streetsweeper, Vol. 1, on May 20, 2003. A popular song from this album was "Too Much For Me". This song featured singers like Amerie, Birdman, Nas, and Foxy Brown. The music video for "Too Much For Me" was shown on TV channels like MTV Jams and BET.
His second album, The Streetsweeper, Vol. 2, came out on March 30, 2004. A song from this album, "Who Gives A...Where You From" with Three 6 Mafia, was even featured in the 2004 NFL Street video game.
Later Albums and Big Collaborations
After these albums, DJ Kay Slay released More Than Just a DJ in 2010. He also worked on an album called Rhyme or Die. In 2013, a song called "About That Life" became very successful. It featured many famous artists like Fabolous, T-Pain, Rick Ross, Nelly, and French Montana.
In 2014, he released "Free Again" with Fat Joe and 50 Cent. This was a surprise to some fans because these artists had disagreements in the past, but they had become friends again.
In 2021, DJ Kay Slay released a huge track called "Rolling 110 Deep". This song was special because it featured 110 different hip hop artists! Some of the famous people on it included Ice-T, Shaq, KRS-One, and Ghostface Killah.
Illness and Passing
In January 2022, DJ Kay Slay became sick with COVID-19. His brother shared that he was in the hospital but was getting better. Sadly, DJ Kay Slay passed away from COVID-19 in New York City on April 17, 2022. He was 55 years old.
