Darryl Raynard Richardson III (born January 19, 1984), known professionally as Lil Scrappy, is an American rapper. He is also a talented songwriter and record producer. Lil Scrappy became famous for his unique style of crunk and Southern hip hop music.
He was first discovered by the well-known producer and rapper Lil Jon. This happened while Lil Scrappy was performing at a bar in their hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. He quickly gained a strong following in the Atlanta hip hop scene and across the southeastern United States. He released many mixtapes that helped him become popular.

Early Life and Music Beginnings
Darryl Raynard Richardson III was born in Atlanta, Georgia. From a young age, he loved music. He started writing his own song lyrics when he was just a boy. He would entertain people in his neighborhood with his amazing rapping skills.
In the early 2000s, he became known for his song "Head Bussa" around Atlanta. By 2003, the famous rapper Lil Jon teamed up with Lil Scrappy. They worked together to re-create "Head Bussa" and create new music. This led to a new album with another group called Trillville.

First Album Success (2004-2006)
Lil Scrappy's first album was released in 2004. It was called The King of Crunk & BME Recordings Present: Trillville & Lil Scrappy. This album was special because it featured songs by both Lil Scrappy and Trillville. Lil Jon produced the album. It was a big hit, reaching number 12 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Bred 2 Die Born 2 Live (2006-2008)
Lil Scrappy's first solo album, Bred 2 Die Born 2 Live, came out on December 5, 2006. This album was released through Reprise Records. Around this time, famous East Coast rapper 50 Cent offered him a special deal with his record label, G-Unit.
The album was also produced by Lil Jon. It featured many guest artists like 50 Cent, Olivia, Three 6 Mafia, and Young Buck. The first song released from the album was "Money in the Bank". It featured Young Buck and became a huge success. This song reached number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It is still Lil Scrappy's biggest solo hit in the U.S. Another popular song from the album was "Gangsta Gangsta", which featured Lil Jon.
Prince of the South Albums (2008-2010)
Lil Scrappy's second album, Prince of the South, was released on May 13, 2008. This album was put out by Real Talk Entertainment. He later released a second independent album, Prince of the South 2, on October 19, 2010, also through Real Talk Entertainment.
Tha Grustle and Other Projects (2009-2012)
In April 2009, Lil Scrappy joined the Disturbing tha Peace record label. He planned to release his fourth album, Tha Grustle. However, the album faced delays. In November 2011, he announced that he had left Disturbing the Peace. He then shared that Tha Grustle would be released by Bonzi Records in 2012.

Since 2012, Lil Scrappy has been a regular on the popular reality TV show Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. He has appeared in eleven seasons of the show, sharing his life and career with viewers.
