History of Lilesville
Lilesville got its start a long time ago. A post office opened in the area in 1827. The town was named after an early merchant who lived there. Later, in 1874, Lilesville officially became an incorporated town.

Geology: The Lilesville Granite
Lilesville is famous for a special type of rock called the Lilesville Granite. This rock is an igneous rock, which means it formed from molten rock (magma) that cooled down. It's named after the town because it's found in this area.
