Liliana Piera Marina Brescia Clerici, known as Liliana Ross, was an actress, director, and writer. She was born in Italy on March 30, 1939, and passed away on June 10, 2018. Her career in theater and television lasted over 50 years. Many people remember her for her main roles in Chilean TV shows called telenovelas, like La Colorina (1977) and Machos (2003).
In 1992, the Italian government gave Liliana Ross a special honor. She was named a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.

Her Early Life
Liliana Ross was born in Genoa, Italy. Her first language was Italian. When she was six years old, she moved to Chile with her parents. They moved to escape World War II. She remembered seeing bombs fall on an Italian beach. Her father told her to hide under a boat.
Her Acting Career
In Chile, Liliana Ross acted in more than 20 telenovelas and TV shows. She worked on four big TV channels. These included Canal 13, Televisión Nacional de Chile (TVN), Mega, and Chilevisión (CHV). In 1977, she got the main role in the TVN telenovela, La Colorina. This show had 88 episodes and helped start her career.
Liliana Ross became very famous for her role in the 2003 Canal 13 telenovela, Machos. She played Valentina Fernández. She was the mother of seven sons in the show. In real life, Liliana Ross had three daughters and no sons. One famous scene showed her character passing away. This episode was watched by many people in Chile.
Her last TV show was La Sexóloga in 2012. Liliana Ross also worked a lot in the theater. She was an actor, director, and producer. For example, she directed a play called The Full Monty in Chile in 2000.
Awards and Other Work
Liliana Ross was honored by both the Chilean and Italian governments. She also received awards from magazines. In 2003, Cara magazine named her their woman of the year. In 2011, she received the Premio APES award. This award was given by a group of journalists in Chile.
The Italian government gave her a special award in 1992. It was called the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
Later Life and Passing
Around 2016 and 2017, Liliana Ross started having health challenges that affected her memory. This led her to stop acting. She passed away at her home in Santiago, Chile, on June 10, 2018. She was 79 years old.
Her Family Life
Liliana Ross met her first husband, Hugo Miller, at Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. They got married in 1963. They had three daughters: Daniela, Vanessa, and Moira. Two of her daughters, Vanessa and Moira, also became actresses. Hugo Miller passed away in 1997.
In 2003, she married her second husband, Raoul Pinno. He was a theater producer. They were together until her passing in 2018.
