Limestone Lake is a beautiful lake located in the northern part of Manitoba, Canada. It is an important part of the huge Hudson Bay drainage basin. This means all the water from the lake eventually flows into Hudson Bay.

Limestone Lake is also special because it is where the Limestone River begins its journey. The lake is about 18.2 kilometers (11.3 miles) long and 5.5 kilometers (3.4 miles) wide. It sits at an elevation of 189 meters (620 feet) above sea level.

Exploring Limestone Lake

Limestone Lake has two main parts, called bays, that have their own names. These bays help shape the lake and its surroundings.

Kinoseeti Bay

On the eastern side of Limestone Lake, you will find Kinoseeti Bay. This bay is one of the two named sections of the lake. It adds to the interesting shape of the lake.

Sakawisew Bay

The other important bay is Sakawisew Bay, located on the northern side of the lake. This bay is especially significant because it is the exact spot where the Limestone River starts flowing out of the lake.

Getting to the Lake

Reaching Limestone Lake can be an adventure! The closest way to get there is by using a special landing strip.

Nearby Access Point
