Linda Margaret Powell (born April 16, 1965) is an American actress. She is known for her roles in TV shows like Chicago Fire and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and in movies such as American Gangster.

Growing Up

Linda Margaret Powell was born on April 16, 1965, in Fort Benning, Georgia. Her parents are Alma Powell and Colin Powell. Her father, Colin Powell, was a very important leader in the United States government. He was the United States Secretary of State, a top advisor for national security, and the head of the military's joint chiefs.

Because her father was in the military, Linda grew up moving often. She lived on different military bases and went to four different high schools. She attended Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado for a year. Then, she graduated from Leavenworth High School in Leavenworth, Kansas in 1983.

After high school, Linda went to the College of William and Mary. She earned a degree in English literature in 1987. She also studied acting at the Circle in the Square Theatre School.

Acting Career

Linda Powell has had a long career playing supporting roles in movies and on television. A supporting role is when an actor plays an important character, but not the main one. Some of her well-known TV roles include Ingrid Mills on Chicago Fire. She also played Pauline Samson in the TV mini-series Political Animals. In movies, she played a lawyer in Blue Caprice.

Linda has also performed a lot in live theater. She has acted on Broadway, which is a famous theater district in New York City. There, she was in plays like Wilder, Wilder, Wilder and On Golden Pond. She has also performed in other plays like A Raisin in the Sun and The Christians.
