Linda Stein (born April 24, 1945 – died October 30, 2007) was an American music manager and real estate agent. She was known for helping famous rock bands and later for selling homes to many celebrities.

Linda Stein's Amazing Career
Linda Stein started her career as a teacher. But she soon left teaching to work in the music world. She became a co-manager for the famous punk rock band, The Ramones. She also managed another singer, Steve Forbert. Linda was often seen at popular clubs like Studio 54. She was known for her quick wit and fun personality.
Working with Seymour Stein
Linda was married to Seymour Stein. He was a very important person in the music industry. Seymour was the president of Sire Records. He also worked as a vice president at Warner Bros. Records. He helped start the careers of many huge stars. These included Madonna, The Ramones, Talking Heads, and The Pretenders. Linda and Seymour later divorced.
Becoming a Real Estate Star
In the 1990s, Linda changed careers. She stopped managing bands. Instead, she became a "real estate agent to the stars." This meant she helped famous people buy and sell homes. She found amazing apartments for many celebrities. Some of her famous clients included Madonna, Sting, Angelina Jolie, and Elton John. She also helped Billy Joel, Christie Brinkley, Bruce Willis, Jann Wenner, Michael Douglas, and Steven Spielberg.
Movies Inspired by Linda
Linda Stein was so unique that she even inspired movie characters! A friend, author Steven Gaines, said two characters were based on her. One was a real estate agent in the movie Wall Street. The other was a record executive in the 1998 movie 54.
Linda Stein's Passing
On October 30, 2007, Linda Stein was found dead in her apartment. Investigators later determined that her death was caused by another person. At that time, Linda was also dealing with a brain tumor.
Finding the Person Responsible
On November 9, 2007, Linda's former personal assistant, Natavia Lowery, was arrested. Reports said the assistant attacked Linda because Linda "kept yelling at her." On May 3, 2010, Lowery was sentenced to a long prison term. This was for causing Linda's death and for stealing money from her.
Linda Stein's Lasting Impact
Linda Stein's friends and family remembered her in special ways. Singer Elton John announced he would perform at a cancer research fundraiser. He did this to honor Linda.
On April 24, 2009, which would have been Linda's 64th birthday, her daughter Mandy Stein released a film. The movie was called Burning Down the House: The Rise and Fall of CBGB. Mandy dedicated this film to her mother.
