Linda Thorson (born Linda Robinson on June 18, 1947) is a Canadian actress. She is famous for playing Tara King in the TV show The Avengers from 1968 to 1969.

Early Life and Name
Linda Robinson was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She went to Bishop Strachan School. In 1965, she moved to the United Kingdom to study acting.
She graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1967. She earned an Honours Diploma, which means she did very well. Her professional name, Thorson, comes from her first husband's last name, Bergthorson.
Acting Career Highlights
Thorson is best known for her role as Tara King. She joined the British TV adventure series The Avengers. She took over from Diana Rigg, who played Emma Peel. Linda starred alongside the original actor, Patrick Macnee.
After The Avengers, Thorson appeared in many TV shows and movies. These included Thriller and Return of the Saint. She also acted in the horror film Curtains.
From 1989 to 1992, Thorson was in the daytime drama One Life to Live. She played Julia Wheaton Medina. She also appeared in Star Trek: The Next Generation in 1993. She played a Cardassian commander named Gul Ocett. From 1998 to 2000, she was Isabel in the Canadian series Emily of New Moon.
In 2002, Thorson played a Supreme Court Justice in the movie Half Past Dead. She also appeared in the action movie Max Havoc: Ring of Fire in 2006. From 2006 to 2007, Thorson played the character Rosemary King in the ITV series Emmerdale.
Stage Performances
Linda Thorson has also performed in many plays and musicals. She appeared on Broadway in Steaming and Noises Off!. In 1971, she starred in the London show No ... Please, We're British.
She also played Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Open Air Theatre in London. In 2008, she was in the musical Gigi at the same theatre. In 2013, Thorson acted in the play August: Osage County. She also produced a new play called The Goodbye Bird in 2013.
Personal Life
Linda Thorson has been married several times. She married Cyril Jeffrey Smith Jr. in 1979. They divorced two years later.
In 1984, she married American news anchor Bill Boggs. They had one son together. They divorced after 19 years. She later married production designer Gavin Mitchell in 2005. They divorced in 2011.
Linda Thorson can speak in two different accents. She uses her Canadian accent when she is in North America. When she is in the United Kingdom, she speaks with a received pronunciation accent.
