Lindell Shamar Wigginton (/lɪnˈdɛl/ LIN-del; born March 28, 1998) is a Canadian professional basketball player. He recently played for the Shandong Hi-Speed Kirin team in China. Before becoming a pro, Lindell played college basketball for the Iowa State Cyclones.

Early Life and High School Basketball
Lindell Wigginton grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada. His mother is from Uniacke Square in Halifax. His father is from North Preston. Lindell started his high school basketball journey in his hometown. He played for one year at Prince Andrew High School in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
When he was 15, Lindell moved to the United States. He joined Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. This school is well-known for its basketball program.
Becoming a Top Recruit
Lindell was a highly-rated basketball player in high school. ESPN, a big sports network, ranked him as a four-star recruit. In October 2016, he decided to play college basketball for Iowa State. He chose them over other strong teams like Arizona State and Oregon.
In 2017, Lindell was chosen to play in the Nike Hoop Summit. This event features top young basketball players from around the world. Representing the World Select Team, Lindell played for over 22 minutes. He scored 11 points and had 7 assists, which was the most on his team.

College Basketball Career
Lindell Wigginton played college basketball for the Iowa State Cyclones. He was a very important player for his team.
Freshman Year Success
During his first year, known as his freshman season, Lindell was one of Iowa State's best players. He scored an average of 16.7 points per game. He also grabbed 3.7 rebounds and made 2.8 assists per game. After this successful season, Lindell thought about entering the 2018 NBA draft. However, he decided to return to Iowa State for another year.
Sophomore Season and Awards
In his second year, his sophomore season, Lindell continued to play well. He averaged 13.4 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. He was recognized for his great play. The Big 12 Conference named him the Sixth Man of the Year in 2019. This award goes to the best player who usually comes off the bench. He started only two of his 26 games that season because of a foot injury early on. After this season, he decided to enter the 2019 NBA draft.
Professional Basketball Journey
Lindell Wigginton began his professional career after the 2019 NBA draft. Even though he wasn't drafted, he joined the Toronto Raptors for the 2019 NBA Summer League.
Playing for the Iowa Wolves
In September 2019, Lindell signed a contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves. This led him to play for their NBA G League team, the Iowa Wolves. The G League is like a development league for the NBA. On November 8, 2019, he had a great game, scoring 24 points, making 7 assists, and grabbing 6 rebounds. During his time with the Iowa Wolves, he averaged 15.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game.
Playing Overseas in Israel
In May 2020, Lindell signed with Ironi Nes Ziona. This team plays in the Israeli Premier League. He averaged 8.6 points per game while playing in Israel.
Returning to the Iowa Wolves
Lindell came back to the Iowa Wolves in January 2021. He continued to play strongly, averaging 17.1 points, 5.2 assists, and 4.1 rebounds in 17 games.
Playing in Canada
In June 2021, Lindell joined the Hamilton Honey Badgers. This team is part of the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
Time with the Wisconsin Herd
In October 2021, Lindell moved to the Wisconsin Herd. This is another team in the NBA G League.
Playing for the Milwaukee Bucks
Lindell got a big opportunity in January 2022. He signed a two-way contract with the Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA. This type of contract allows a player to play for both an NBA team and its G League affiliate. On April 10, 2022, Lindell scored 18 points and had 8 assists in a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He re-signed with the Bucks in July 2022. Lindell also played for the Bucks in the 2022 NBA Summer League. In his first Summer League game, he scored 17 points and had 7 assists. He was even named to the All-NBA Summer League Second Team in July 2022.
Back to the Wisconsin Herd and Bucks
Lindell returned to the Wisconsin Herd in November 2022. He later signed another two-way contract with the Milwaukee Bucks in March 2023. He was with the Bucks until January 2024.
Playing in China
In February 2024, Lindell signed with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers in the Chinese Basketball Association. Later, in August 2024, he joined another Chinese team, the Shandong Hi-Speed Kirin.
National Team Career
Lindell Wigginton has also proudly represented his home country, Canada, in international basketball.
FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship
In 2016, Lindell helped Team Canada win a silver medal. This was at the 2016 FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship held in Valdivia, Chile.
FIBA Under-19 World Cup Gold Medal
In 2017, Lindell played a very important part in Canada's journey to a gold medal. This happened at the 2017 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup in Cairo, Egypt. During the tournament, he averaged 12.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. He missed some games due to an injury. However, he returned for the championship game against Italy. In that game, he scored 11 points and contributed with 3 rebounds and 3 assists, helping Canada win the gold!
