A New Name and a Post Office

As more families settled on Cedar Creek Ridge, they needed a way to send and receive mail. In 1889, these families asked for a post office. They chose the name Linden for their community.

The post office officially opened in 1890. It served the people of Linden for many years. Sadly, the store and post office building burned down in 1928. After that, the post office stopped operating. The community was named after another place called Linden, Missouri.
