Lindsay is a small community in Dawson County, Montana, United States. It is called an "unincorporated hamlet" because it does not have its own local government.
Lindsay is located on Montana Highway 200S. It is also near the Upper Sevenmile Creek. The community is about 22 miles (35.9 km) west-northwest of Glendive. Lindsay has a post office with ZIP code 59339. It also has a public school and a cooperative.

History of Lindsay
The town of Lindsay was named after Willam Lindsay. He was a businessman from Ohio. Willam Lindsay was the first rancher and freighter in this area.
In the 1920s, the town of Lindsay actually moved. This happened when the Northern Pacific Railway built a new train line. The line went to Circle. The town moved to be closer to this important new railway.
