Lisa Yee (born August 27, 1959) is a Chinese American author. She is well-known for her books like Millicent Min, Girl Genius (2003), Stanford Wong Flunks Big-Time (2005), and So Totally Emily Ebers (2007). These three books tell the stories of pre-teens in Rancho Rosetta during the summer. She also wrote Warp Speed (2011) and books for American Girl, including Good Luck Ivy!.

Lisa Yee was born on August 27, 1959. She grew up near Los Angeles, California. She went to Brightwood Elementary School. Later, she attended Alhambra High School.

During high school, Lisa was very active. She was on the debate team. She was also the president of the honor society. After high school, she studied at the University of Southern California. There, she majored in English and Humanities.

Lisa Yee has written many different things. She has written newspaper articles. She also wrote TV commercials and TV specials. In 2007, she was chosen as a special children's writer. This was at Thurber House in Columbus, Ohio.

Awards and Recognition

Lisa Yee's book, Millicent Min, Girl Genius, won an important award. It received the 2004 Sid Fleischman Humor award. This book was also chosen for the IRA/CBC Children's Choice list. It was nominated for several state prizes too.

Another one of her books, Stanford Wong Flunks Big Time, was also recognized. It was named an ALA Notable Book. This means it was chosen as a great book by the American Library Association.
