Lissa Explains it All is a cool website that helps kids and beginners learn how to build their own websites. It teaches you important computer languages like HTML and JavaScript. Alyssa "Lissa" Daniels created this website in 1998 when she was just 12 years old.

How Lissa Explains Started

Lissa didn't plan to teach HTML at first. When she was 11, she wanted to make her own website. But she found it hard to remember all the HTML codes. So, she started saving the codes on her own webpage.

Many people who saw her website asked her how she made it. Lissa shared the address (called a URL) to her special code page. As more and more people visited, Lissa added more codes and useful information. Soon, her helpful page became a public resource for everyone.

What Lissa Explains Offers

Besides teaching HTML, Lissa Explains has many other helpful tools. Lissa teaches you HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. You can also learn how to use frames and tables, and even how to make a cool trailing cursor on your site.

LissaMail Service

LissaMail was a service that let users send emails. However, this service is no longer available. Its website stopped working in April 2008.

Sending Postcards

Lissa also offered digital postcards. Users could send these fun postcards to their friends online.

Handy Color Tools

Lissa's Color Slider is a neat tool. It lets you pick any color you like. Then, it gives you the special hexadecimal color code for that exact shade. This code helps you use the color on your website. She also has a color wheel, which is great for people using Internet Explorer.

HTML Code Editor

Lissa's HTML Editor is a super useful tool. It can take text you've written and change it into HTML codes. This makes it much easier to put your formatted text onto a website without writing all the codes yourself.
