The backing band for Bryan Adams is a group of talented musicians. They are sometimes called The Dudes of Leisure. These musicians play with Bryan Adams in the studio when he records songs. They also join him for his live concerts.

Unlike many solo artists, Bryan Adams likes to work with the same people. He doesn't often change his band members. This helps them play together really well.

History of Bryan Adams' Band

Bryan Adams started his solo music career in 1979. But he didn't have a steady band right away. The group started to form when he worked on his second album. This album was called You Want It You Got It.

During this time, two key musicians joined him. They were Mickey Curry on drums and Tommy Mandel on keyboards. Both of them became regular members of the band.

The Classic Line-Up

In 1983, Bryan Adams released his album Cuts Like A Knife. For this album, two more musicians joined the group. They were Dave Taylor on bass guitar and Keith Scott on lead guitar. Keith Scott had worked with Bryan Adams before.

With Dave Taylor and Keith Scott, the band was complete. This group stayed together for about 15 years. Drummer Pat Steward also played with the band sometimes. He played on the hit song "Summer of '69". He also performed with the band at Live Aid in 1985. Pat Steward was also the drummer for the world tour.

Changes Over the Years

In 1998, Tommy Mandel and Dave Taylor left the band. For a few years, Bryan Adams, Keith Scott, and Mickey Curry played as a trio. Bryan Adams played the bass guitar himself. Keith Scott handled both rhythm and lead guitar parts.

In 2002, Bryan Adams decided to go back to having five band members. He brought in Norm Fisher to play bass. Gary Breit joined as the new keyboardist. This line-up stayed the same for many years, until 2016.

Recent Band Members

In 2016, Norm Fisher left the band. Phil Thornalley took over on bass for about a year. Then, in 2017, Solomon Walker became the new bass player. This is the group that still plays together today.

In 2021, Pat Steward rejoined the band on drums. Mickey Curry stayed home with his family during the COVID-19 pandemic.
