List of Pokémon Adventures volumes facts for kids
Pokémon Adventures is a popular Japanese manga series. In Japan, it's called Pocket Monsters Special (ポケットモンスター SPECIAL). This exciting series is published by Shogakukan.
The stories in Pokémon Adventures are based on many of the Pokémon video games made by Nintendo. Because of this, the main characters in the manga often have the same names as the main characters in the video games. Sometimes, there are delays in releasing new chapters. This happens because the people who create the manga need to see the new Pokémon games first before they can continue the story.
About the Pokémon Adventures Manga
The Pokémon Adventures series is written by Hidenori Kusaka. The drawings were done by Mato for the first nine books. After that, Satoshi Yamamoto started drawing the series from the tenth book onwards.
The Japanese publisher, Shogakukan, has been releasing the individual chapters in special book formats called tankōbon. The very first tankōbon book came out on August 8, 1997. So far, over 60 of these books have been released!
Pokémon Adventures in English
The company Viz Media helps bring Pokémon Adventures to English-speaking readers in the United States. Viz first released the early books from July 6, 2000, to January 2003. They also published some chapters in a magazine format.
Later, in 2006, Viz released two special books called The Best of Pokémon Adventures. These books collected different chapters from the first two story parts into one volume.
Viz Media started publishing the tankōbon books again on June 1, 2009. They also began releasing the newer story parts that came after the first seven books. For example, Volume 8, which starts the Gold and Silver story, came out in 2010. Volume 30, which begins the Diamond/Pearl/Platinum story, was released in 2011. It's worth noting that these English releases sometimes have small changes to the pictures and words compared to the original Japanese versions.
More recently, on July 24, 2018, Viz announced that you can now read the regular Pokémon Adventures books digitally. You can find them on their own digital platform and other places like ComiXology and Amazon Kindle. The first seven books were available right away, and the rest of the stories were planned to be released digitally between August and December 2018.
