Channel Marker Obelisk

The Channel Marker Obelisk stands tall in Munster. It was built in 1872. This obelisk is an 8 to 9-meter tall stone pillar. It was used as a channel marker to guide ships. It also served as a trigonometric beacon, which helped with surveying land.

Coogee Hotel

The Coogee Hotel in Coogee was built in 1898. It's a single-story hotel that also had a post office. This building shows us what hotels looked like before World War I. It has been known by several names over the years, including Powell’s Coogee Hotel.

C. Y. O'Connor Statue

You can find the C. Y. O'Connor Statue at South Beach in North Coogee. This statue was created in 2001. It shows a man sitting on a horse. It's a tribute to C. Y. O'Connor, a very important engineer in Western Australia's history.

Davilak House Ruins

The Davilak House is a set of ruins located in Spearwood. It was built in 1866. These ruins are what's left of a large stone homestead. It's part of the wider Azelia Ley Homestead area. The ruins give us a glimpse into the past.

Explosive Magazines

The Explosive Magazines are located in Coogee. They were built in 1941. This group of three brick buildings was used to store explosives. Specifically, they held cordite during World War II. They are also known as the Woodman Point Munitions Magazines.

Newmarket Hotel

The Newmarket Hotel in Hamilton Hill was built in 1912. It's a two-story building in the Federation Filigree style. This hotel is a great example of a large hotel built in an area that was mostly rural back then.

Quarantine Station

The Quarantine Station at O'Kane Court in Coogee dates back to 1886. This station was a very important place. It was one of only two major quarantine stations in Western Australia. People arriving by ship who might have been sick would stay here. It's also known as the Woodman Point Recreation Camp.

Randwick Stables

The Randwick Stables in Hamilton Hill were built in 1923. This property includes a timber-framed bungalow and several paddocks and stables. It shows us how horses were kept and trained in the past.

Robb Jetty Chimney

The Robb Jetty Chimney stands in North Coogee. It was built in 1919. This tall industrial chimney is the only part left of what was once a major abattoir in Western Australia. An abattoir is a place where animals are processed for meat.

South Beach

South Beach in North Coogee has a long history, dating back to 1833. This beach is famous for being the site of the first official horse race in Western Australia. That race took place in October 1833. It was also known as the South Beach Horse Exercise Area.

South Fremantle Power Station

The South Fremantle Power Station is located on Robb Street in North Coogee. It was built in 1951. This power station was one of several built in Australia in the early 1950s. It is the only one of its kind left in Western Australia.

Three Lime Kilns Group

The Three Lime Kilns Group can be found in Coogee and Munster. These kilns were built around 1905. They are rare examples of early 20th-century lime kilns. These kilns were used to produce lime, which was important for building and farming. The group includes the Coogee Lime Kilns, Tylee Lime Kiln, and Munster Lime Kiln.

Woodman Point Lighthouse
